This is a wonderful handout for the first few weeks of school in an instrument ensemble! Band, Orchestra and Chorus, just edit the word "orchestra" accordingly after you download!
During the first week of classes, allow your students to write in their own personal music goals for the year. On the 100th day of school, return these sheets to each student so that they may reflect on their progress. This download has 2 sheets and I suggest printing it double-sided. This is a useful activity for an observation early in the year. A quick, yet thoughtful way for musicians to write in the rehearsal setting (which is not easy, but sometimes requested!) that also positively contributes to each student's success. Student's like taking ownership of their goals, so this is a great way to do so.
This document is editable, so that you can make it work with your ensemble. I am definitely using this on our very first class meeting so that the students can really think about the year ahead and what they want to achieve technically, musically, practice-wise,etc. This handout is also helpful while my orchestra waits for our instruments to arrive from the rental shop!
Thank you for looking! Have a great school year!
