First Day of School Activities:

- Seatwork Coloring Pages – After students come into the classroom for the first time and put their things away, they can relax at their new seats and color this page while you greet other students.

- First/Last Day of School Drawing - Students can draw anything they want in the space provided. Prompt them to think about things they are interested in or know a lot about. Included is a page for the last day of school so that students can see how much they have grown and changed over the year.

- First Day Awards - At the end of the day, send students home with this certificate to show their parents/guardians that they had a wonderful first day of school.

- 1st Day Medals - Students can color these cute medals and wear them to show off after a successful first day.

- Card to Parents/Guardians - print back-to-back and have students color and complete the card for their families.

- Parent/Guardian Picture Page - If you have a student who is struggling with the separation from their parents, have them complete this page. Students will draw a picture of themselves with their family which usually calms down a nervous student.

- School Rules Activities - Students will demonstrate their understanding of some of the many rules they learned on the first day by drawing or drawing and writing 3 rules they have learned.

- Letters in My Name Worksheet - Students will write their names and complete the page to show their understanding of the letters in their name.

- School Tools Cut and Paste Activity - Students cut and paste the pictures that show tools that they will use in school.

- School Rules True/False Page - Read the rules and have students determine if they are rules for the classroom or not.

- All About Me Mini-Book - Students fill out the pages of the All About Me book and then cut on the lines to create the pages. Students place the pages in order and staple them together.

- All About Our Class Book - Each student in the class completes a page for the book, sharing details about themselves. Compile the student pages and place the cover on top for a super cute class book, perfect to display at open house.

- Getting to Know You Cube for Individual or Group Activity - Create the cube and use it for a whole group, small group or partner activity. Students roll the dice and answer the question that appears and discuss.

- Thank You Letter to Parents - Send this letter home with students to tell parents you are looking forward to a great year. Sign before copying.

Thank you and enjoy!
