Product Description
Review classroom management and reading, writing & grammar concepts with these engaging activities. This bundle includes an icebreaker activity, a grammar game, task cards, a memoir lesson, and a game to review rules, procedures, and routines to make your school year start smoothly.

Icebreaker Activity
Start with Who Am I? cards as an icebreaker and team builder activity. Much like the classic “21 Questions Game,” students walk around the classroom asking one another questions in order to use critical thinking and guess the icons, historical figures, athletes, and celebrities on the cards on their backs.

Task Cards
Review routines, expectations, and procedures with back to school task cards that encourage students to review their syllabus, handbooks, and other classroom resources. Besides helping students review their routines, expectations, and procedures, the Twitter response handout requires students to write concise answers and makes their learning relevant.

Classroom Management Game
Review your expectations and procedures with this trashketball game. Create a positive classroom culture at the beginning of the school year as students work cooperatively to find the answers.

Choosing Novels Activity
Help your students choose appropriate novels for independent reading. This activity uses a strategy called IRA in which students evaluate their book choices by interest, readability, and appropriateness and guides them to a “tease to read” presentation.

Memoir in 100 Words
Get to know your students better and encourage them to revise their writing with a memoir lesson. Originally inspired by The Washington Post feature “Life is Short: Autobiography as Haiku,” students write 100 word memoirs. It teaches students to “show” themselves in vivid details and carefully chosen words.

Sentence Combining Game
Find out what your students remember about the four sentence structures: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex; then have them practice combining sentences. This is game gets them out of their seats and actively learning.

This 114 page resource includes four PDF files and two PowerPoint presentations. If you would prefer to purchase these activities separately, click on the links below:
