This is a bundle of different back to school activities that help teach the rules and go along with the books "David Goes to School" and "First Day Jitters." Here are the descriptions of what you will get! Save by buying the bundle!
EDITABLE CLASS RULES BOOK
This packet includes a different page for each rule for students to illustrate. I like to have the students do a different rule every day for the first week. The teacher can then make a class book with the students' illustrations for them to reference. This packet includes the five whole brain teaching rules:
1. Follow Directions Quickly
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak
3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
4. Make Smart Choices
5. Keep your dear teacher happy.
It also includes the PBIS rules:
There is an editable page that you can duplicate to make any rule that you would like to use! You could also use the editable page to allow students to write the rules themselves. This is a great activity to really get your students thinking about the rules of your classroom and committed to following them throughout the year!
EDITABLE LOW PREP DAVID GOES TO SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
This is a packet of three great activities for the first week of school. These activities go along with the book "David Goes to School." The activities include a differentiated writing activity, an editable rule sort and a low prep craft. This book is a wonderful way to introduce the rules to your students and these activities will keep them engaged!
First Day Jitters Graph/Anchor Chart - NO PREP
This is a great activity for the first day of school. You can read "First Day Jitters" to your students then talk about how they are feeling on the first day of school. I've done this activity in the past and students were frustrated because they couldn't draw how they feel, now they don't have to! They can choose the face that represents how they feel, write their name, color and sort! The first page contains the labels for your anchor chart. The next four pages are for your students to choose how they feel. They can write their name and color the face without the pressure of drawing how they feel on the first day! Enjoy!
