Students are often shy and reluctant to share during the first days of school in a new classroom. This I Have...Who Has? activity will be a great ice-breaker to use during the first week back to school. It will also help your little ones to review and master reading school-related words. This word card set can be used as a whole class activity, in a small group, at a literacy center or for RTI.
Enough cards are included for 30 players. By removing some cards, giving several players more than one card to read, or having a teacher or another adult working with the group join in, it is possible for this to work in a small group too! After playing several times, students can work independently and run a game during Daily 5 or your center rotations. This activity is best suited for first and second graders. Take a look at the thumbnail images to see the words included and to assess the level of difficulty for your class.
Directions are included and can be printed and laminated to keep at a center or to leave for a volunteer or substitute teacher if needed.
A cover card is also included to keep your set organized. Each card in this set has an apple in the corner. If you purchase other sets, the cards will be easy to sort into the correct pile should your students accidentally mix them together!
