The first week of school can be busy and stressful! Having something meaningful for your students to work on during that first week is hard to find. In this pack you will find 5 activities that will not only keep your classroom running smoothly, but will give you and your students an opportunity to get to know one another. I have used these products for years and always find them helpful, and I hope you do too!
Included in this pack:
About Me Worksheet- Students will have an opportunity to tell you a little about themselves through words or illustrations.
Instagram- Who doesn't love Instagram!? In this activity, students will create an instagram post about their first day of school. This activity makes for a great bulletin board!
Find a Friend scavenger hunt- Once you have classroom rules in place, allow your students some freedom to move around the room and get to know one another. They will have so much more in common then first thought. This is a great activity for students who are new to your school.
Compare and Contrast- This activity can be used in many different ways. In my classroom, I like my students to find a friend that they didn't know too well. They can sit together and now have a chance to get to know one another. I have seen teachers pair students up based on the scavenger hunt. Possibilities are endless!
Letter to Myself- This is my favorite activity in the pack! Students will write themselves a letter that they will open and read on the last day of school. This letter is a great way to have students begin setting goals for the year. It also gives teachers an opportunity to review or teach letter writing.
