This art lesson was written with kindergarten and first grade students in mind. It introduces them to a variety of lines and asks them to identify them in the painting, Composition VIII, by Wassily Kandinski. They then draw and color in their own picture using those lines.
This PowerPoint may be projected on a screen or printed out and shown up close.
All a teacher or sub needs to do is to read the information and questions on the slides to lead them through the lesson.
This may be taught by an art sub, art teacher or classroom teacher.
The art supplies needed to create the art in this lesson are paper and crayons.
