Product Description
It’s Back to School time, and what is more fun than getting to know your students while playing a game? Use these reproducible bingo cards to learn more about your students, allow your students to get to know each other, find commonalities, and open doors to conversation.

On the first page are the “calls”. I cut these out, fold them, and put them in a little basket. Then, I pull them out one by one and call them to the students, who place a chip on their bingo card. (If your school allows it, one fun thing to do is use M&Ms or Goldfish crackers as the markers. Then, at the end of the round, the kids can eat them!)

On the next pages are the cards, which you distribute to the students. Students can play on their own, but it is also effective for students to work in pairs and combine their traits in order to win. This way, they get to know one new classmate especially well and may make a new lifelong friend! As you play, take some time to highlight your students. For example, if someone places a chip on “Has flown on a airplane”, ask them when they flew and where they went.

Remember, you can set the rules as to how students achieve bingo – horizontal, vertical, diagonal, four comers, etc. Of course, the prizes are up to you and the age group with which you are working (stickers, a new pencil or pencil pouch, a certificate for a free homework day, etc.).

No time for bingo? I have also attached for free my “Human Treasure Hunt” first day of school activity. This is a fun activity that gets students up and moving around the classroom while making personal contact with multiple classmates.

Happy Back to School!
