Description

This back to school book, song and activities are a great way to help nervous students who are scared to come to school. It reinforces social skills such as understanding, learning, and how we are a team that works together. There is a coloring book that is great for morning work.

It tells the story of Quentin, a penguin who is nervous for his first day of school. His mother teaches him the "Quality Student" song in order to calm his nerves about going back to school, and he in turn teaches it to a friend who is also nervous about back to school. There is also a fun and upbeat song that teaches the students about good behavior and is a great resource to use the first week of school!

My students ask to sing this song all the time! There are also cute penguin character puppets students make and can use to retell the story as well as a comprehension sheet for review.

Just added: A coloring book that helps students to see what the letters in quality stand for. Students will love coloring this book for morning work! You may hear them singing the song they learned as they color the book.

You can see the puppets as well as the motions to the song that my kids love to dance to on this post.
