Why should I host a book club?

Book clubs are a great way to introduce students to multiple texts, encourage independent reading, and allow time to meet with small groups. Book clubs are highly engaging because they give students independence and choice. Your class will love it!

How does this work?

This bundle includes every resource you need to host a successful book club--just add the books! This unit will take approximately 3 weeks to complete.

STEP 1: Host a Book Tasting

Engage your students and introduce them to all the books in this bundle. Students will give feedback which will help you build your groups.

STEP 2: Group/Independent Reading

Students work in groups to read, discuss, and respond. You will receive 5 read aloud companions. Each companion includes discussion questions and journals.

STEP 3: Assessment

Assign a simple, 2- page assessment to your students. These can be printed or assigned through Google Classroom.

STEP 4: Presentations

Not your average book report! These choice boards are low-prep, highly engaging, and include ALL the templates and rubrics you need.
