Implementing the Common Core standards in your first grade classroom this year? Great! Here's a little back to school freebie to get you started! Use these Common Core aligned practice sheets during the first days of school to practice the first grade language standard L.1.1a: Prints all upper- and lowercase letters. These sheets are simple and easy to use, require little ink, and can be used as easy independent seat work as you introduce your firsties to your classroom and the Common Core standards.
Set of six practice sheets takes students through printing all 26 lower- and uppercase letters of the alphabet, in addition to practicing printing students' first names. Print and laminate to use over and over again in centers or small group. Use as a formative assessment for mastery of the L.1.1a standard. Administer three times yearly as a benchmark assessment for handwriting. Include before/afters in student writing portfolios or data binders. Use as morning work, homework, or an intervention for older students still struggling with letter formation. The possibilities for use are endless!
