This is an interactive set of 10 brightly colored and fun center-style activities that encourage counting practice. Each center has a school theme, making it perfect for back to school or anytime. This bundle covers numbers 1-10. Some centers require classroom materials that most teachers have on hand. Many centers also include fine motor work! Each center can me laminated and used for many years. Here are descriptions of the ten centers:
1- School bus matching: A set of ten puzzles that require students to count a set of dots and match to the correct digit to make a complete bus.
2. Counting Crayons- Ten crayon box mats, each with a number at the top. Students count out real or laminated paper crayons (included) to practice counting to the given number.
3- Glue Bottle Puzzles- A set of ten puzzles that practice counting objects up through ten. Students count the glue bottle pieces and match to the correct digit, putting the puzzle back together.
4- Apple Counting- A set of ten cards that practice counting and set recognition through ten. Students clip a clothespin or place an object on each apple, counting as they go.
5- Apple towers- A strip of ten numbered apples, in order. Students place unifix towers on each spot to correspond with the number. As the towers grow, students not only practice counting and cardinality, they are able to make visual comparisons and improve number sense.
6- Count and Match with Magnets- Students count the sets of objects on each card and place a magnetic number in the square.
7- School Bus Counting Wheel- Students are given the wheel and a set of clothespins labeled with the numbers 1-10. Students count each piece of the wheel and clip on the matching clothespin.
8- Bookworm Counting- Students put the correct number of worms on each corresponding book. Includes 10 books and sets of worms.
9- Clip Cards- Students count the school themed objects on each card and clip a clothespin on the correct number. Each card contains three number choices.
10- Punching Tickets- Students are given a set of ten "tickets" each labeled with a number 1-10. Students us a hole punch to make the correct number of holes.
