Are you looking for something different to start your year or to start your term?
Do you want students to -
Take ownership of their learning environment
Engage in discussion
Be problem solvers
Know their classmates
Be able to define aspects of how best they learn.
If so, this is a mission designed for you and your students. Students will determine the layout of their classroom and identify additional possibilities to enhance learning spaces. They will plan, work cooperatively, collect and collate data. By the end of a day they will have had input into how the classroom is set up, they will know something about everyone and they will have made decisions that will influence learning and promote positive decision making. Students will be ready to set goals and focus on learning. Class meetings and discussions will have immediate focus and purpose. As the teacher you will be able to scaffold your class with the activities and tasks provided. A great way to start the year, you will learn so much about each and every child. Students will know where everything is, they will be able to make informed decisions about learning and their environment, they will immediately begin to build positive relationships with every student in the class.
