Teachers can cut out, laminate and tape or staple to make this dice.
This is a fun, simple game for children to get to know each other and helps them feel comfortable in their new class. It addresses the Early Learning and Developmental Standards of Language and Communication and also includes Mathematical Thinking.
Circle time would be a good time to introduce and play this game. Hand the die to one child, have the child to tell his/her name and then roll the die. Read the question aloud and give the child time to answer. Follow up questions are encouraged to promote communication.
As an additional challenge, ask the child if he/she can name the shape, color or number. If not, ask the class for help. Proceed around the circle until everyone has had a turn. This is a game the children will want to play over and over again.
