Description

Here’s a new back to school version of the ever-popular I Have Who Has whole class game. Your second grade students will listen to two clues and identify a word by using initial sound and rhyme {onset / rime}. It's a great whole class game for the first days of second grade!

* Silliness Alert* : Expect lots of giggles to break out when your class is playing this game! Most of the words used for clues are either sight words or easily decoded words. A few are pure nonsense! After all, how many rhymes do you know for "classroom" and "library"? :) How about "crashboom" and "skybrary"? Observing how your students decode and pronounce nonsense words will give you great insights into their phonics strengths and weaknesses!

To accommodate the needs of larger classes, this set includes 34 cards. Have a smaller class? Give some students more than one card!

To prepare this game, just print on cardstock, cut the cards apart, and laminate. Your fun and engaging whole class game is ready to play!

Try I Have... Who Has... as an independent activity! Have your student start with the "I'll Start!" card and order the cards in sequence all the way to the "School" card! It's a challenging activity for fast finishers!
