When you come back to school introduce the teacher in a FUN & ENGAGING activity that also shows students how easy the thinking skills they will use in class are! Using the acronym DIGS, students will view primary source evidence about their teacher (pictures, quotes, movie poster, videos, etc.) in their "type" of group. They will Describe, Infer, Generalize, and Synthesis the primary sources in order to get to know you!!
This activity is in powerpoint and allows for some of it to be EDITABLE! There are 10 blank slides to add your own personal touch and you can add more.
Groups are created by the type of group member each student is according to 4 different types of animals (sloth, hummingbird, meerkat, or chihuahua).
Add in your items, print out the DIGS chart (or draw big on chart paper), and start the power point!! Have a FUN time to first day of school introducing yourself to the students!!
Show your students that history is FUN!
