Getting To Know You Activity
There are so many ways that these cards can be used. Below you will find a few ideas.
Morning Meeting - Getting to Know You: Students take turns picking cards and verbally giving answers while sitting in the morning meeting group.
What about You? (A Walk and Write Game): Students find the person holding the card that matches the number on their answer key. Students write the name of the student, and the answer to the question.
2 Minute Match-up: Print half the number of cards for the number of students you have twice. For example, if you have 24 students, print cards 1-12 twice. Give each student a card. The students with the same cards pair up and exchange answers. Continue daily until each student gets each card. This allows students to get to know a little bit about each student in smaller increments of time.
I would laminate them, so that they stand up to time and the students' hands. :) I used them at the beginning of the year a few times with my fourth graders and they loved them! The 3 activities above are the ones that I used; however I know that there are many more fun things to do with them.
Let me know if you have any other ideas, and I will add them.
