This is a packet of three activities to do (handouts) with the students on the first few days of school. It allows them to get to know their classmates, one particular partner, and also for you to get to know them a little.
Packet includes the following:
-Back to School Bingo, where students "Find a student who" has red hair, wears glasses, has a sister, etc. They fill in the chart and then you play BINGO using popsicle sticks or strips of paper with each student name.
-A Partner Interview Sheet. I've always used "sticker partners," where each student has a sticker on an index card that matches exactly one other sticker that someone else has. For odd numbers, use a threesome. You can also do clock partners, random generated partners, etc. The interview questions foster teamwork and allow students to get to know each other.
-An Opinion Sheet. This has information helpful to you, the teacher, about each student, such as their favorite subject, their perceptions of their strengths and weaknesses, what they're excited about, etc.
