A fun way for your new students to get to know their classmates with silly and imaginative questions. This is a stress-free way for students to mix and mingle during the first week of school! Great tool for building classroom community and getting your students UP and moving.

This getting to know you activity includes one "Slam Dunk School Year" poster (standard 8.5" x 11", you can choose to print it on a larger scale), 18 questions, one recording sheet, and 3 pages of basketball cards.

There are 3 different ways to play, choose the one that works best for you and your students! Directions are included for all 3 options to help you decide which way you want to play.

Option 1: Scoot & Share Out (Good for whole group)

Option 2: Scoot & Partner Up (Good for partners or small group)

Option 3: Partner Talk (Good for partners or small group)

Each option includes a suggested way to incorporate basketball. You do not need a basketball hoop to use this resource! Here are some fun and easy suggestions to incorporate a basketball theme without having a basketball hoop in the classroom:

Ideas for improvised basketball hoops:

-A hula hoop on the ground

-A clean garbage pail or recycling bin

-An empty plastic bin

-A large circle/basketball hoop drawn on the board
