Great for Back to School time, this amazing project is a great way to help you improve student writing, meet Common Core writing standards, and integrate technology. Research shows that English language learners have more success when many visuals are included. The effect is even more powerful when students create those visuals themselves. You'll find that this lesson will be extremely successful with all your students- not just your ELLs!
Students will write an "I am" poem conveying information about themselves. They will then choose music and take photographs to compliment their poem, and create a video in powerpoint. This project is a fun and thoughtful way to get to know your students during Back to School- or anytime!
This amazing packet includes:
-Lesson Plan for 3rd-5th grade (I each)
-Differentiated Poem Organizers (3 levels of differentiation)
-Student-Friendly WIDA Writing Rubric
