This is a fun, quick activity that breaks the ice and gives every student a chance to ask and answer getting-to-know-you questions with many, if not all, classmates in rapid succession (think speed-dating). They will also practice learning and following teacher attention and transition signals. I prefer to do this activity before the first recess, if that applies to your grade level. The activity can be modified for earlier grade levels, but the questions included might be harder to read for younger students.
Full directions are included. There are 40 getting-to-know-you questions included. You can print them on paper or card stock and cut them up, but I prefer to print these out on 2x4 labels and stick them on index cards for durability. If you prefer that, the Word doc set up for labels is included in the .zip file.
