With these Back to School interviews, students will have an opportunity to socialize and get to know their classmates in a fun way. The interview pages include codes in the right and left-hand corners that help the teacher to place peers in partners and groups of four.
Simply pass out the interview pages and watch your students find their "random" partner. After students interview their partner, the partners will then find their group of 4. The groups will share with one another, create quilt squares, and then present their work to the entire class.
As a culminating project, the class will put together their class quilt showing the unique qualities and interests of each class member.
This is a great activity for the first day of school as a way to build community and respect.
