    These Back to School Activities and assessments are great for the beginning of the school year. The assessments are easy to use and can be stapled into a packet for each student, and they are broken up by quarter. All the activities are hands on and interactive.

    Also included are 16 quick and easy printable worksheets for the beginning of the year. They include: number recognition, letter and number tracing, color by number, scissor practice, name practice, one to one counting, color recognition, uppercase and lowercase practice, shape matching

    There are also 6 math centers included in this packet. All the centers are super interactive which require some manipulatives by you and some are provided. Manipulatives required are unifix cubes, pom poms, Play-Doh popsicle sticks (if you don't have those, I have created an alternative), and clothes pins (if you don't have those, I created an alternative). The skills covered are:

    1. Gumball counting: 1:1 Correspondence and number sense

    2. Lollypop counting: 1:1 Correspondence and number sense using Play-Doh

    3. 5-Frame counting using clothes pins: number sense

    4. Candle counting: 1:1 Correspondence and number sense

    5. Counting towers: 1:1 Correspondence and number sense

    6. Number puzzles: 1:1 Correspondence and number sense

    The beginning of the year is all about number sense. So these centers are great activities to build that foundation for the rest of the year!

    There are 5 reading centers that focus on letter recognition and first sound. Included are:

    1. First sound match: puzzles that match pictures to the first sound

    2. Uppercase/Lowercase match: interactive way to match the letters

    3. Letter, Word, Picture sort: Builds a foundation on reading skills.

    4. First Sound Match: Using a clothes pin, pick the first sound that matches the picture

    5. Letter practice: Practice letter recognition with the first sound while correctly forming letters and using Play-Doh

    *I have given options to differentiate the centers depending on the student's skill level!

    These centers will also be great to use with your students in a small group setting!
