    RESOURCE 1 - Kindness Coloring Pages

    Are you looking for some fun, no prep mindfulness activities to help your students relax? These kindness coloring pages are perfect for encouraging kindness and growth mindset. Put the finished coloring pages on display on your bulletin board to spread kindness. They are also perfect to add to a calm down corner to soothe anxious or angry students. 

    Evidence confirms that teaching kindness has many physical, emotional and mental health benefits. This is a significant benefit for schools to help improve relationships. It will also help to reduce anti-social and bullying behavior. This will help to create a safe and inclusive culture.

    RESOURCE 2 - Kindness Posters

    These classroom posters are a colorful addition to your kindness bulletin board. They will help to foster and promote positive character traits with your students and enhance social-emotional learning activities.

    Growth mindset posters help to increase emotional intelligence and remind children to treat others with kindness and respect. These are important skills to nurture healthy relationships.

    RESOURCE 3 - Kindness Checklists

    Ready-made and customizable checklists to build character and nurture classroom community. This kindness challenge will have students engaged for hours or days and is perfect for participating in Random Acts of Kindness Day, Pay It Forward Day or World Kindness Day in February, April and November.

    Print our no-prep kindness checklists or have students construct their own on one of the Google Slides templates. They can work independently or learn skills such as consideration and co-operation by working together on the group challenge.

    Students complete three or more acts of kindness from four categories (school, home, community, with an adult) OR five or more in two categories working together in a group.

    You can even customize your own template for your class or have children practice technology skills by constructing their own using the Google Slides templates.

    A fun, no prep character-building activity to nurture a growth mindset and encourage positive relationships. Each bookmark has a quote or saying about kindness. When used as a coloring activity, they are a useful addition to a calm down corner as a mindfulness activity to soothe anxious, restless or angry students.

    RESOURCE 5 - Kindness Tree

    Kindness has an incredible power to change thoughts, feelings and actions. When touched by an act of kindness, the recipient and the giver both experience addictive feel-good emotions and it's proven that even onlookers benefits.

    Whole school kindness projects are an effective way of helping to improve self-esteem, student and teacher well-being, and promote inclusion to reduce bullying behavior.

    The kindness tree is a fun way for students to record kindness given, received and witnessed throughout the school and see how their good deeds grow.

    The resources included for this activity encourages every member of the school and parent community to be actively involved in spreading kindness. Printables are provided in full color and black outlines. These options along with deconstructed images allow you to limit or increase the involvement for students by simply printing and cutting or coloring and assembling. All resources can be enlarged to suit the available space in your school.

    RESOURCE 6 - Kindness Acrostic Poem

    Build character while helping students practice writing skills with this acrostic poem activity about kindness. Download the Google Slides animation where students will learn how kindness fosters friendship and wellbeing.

    The animated video starts with the question "Why is it important to be kind?" and proceeds to list some of the reasons:

    • When you’re kind it makes you and other people feel happy.
    • When you’re kind people like to be with you.
    • When you’re kind it makes people feel like you’re someone they can trust.
    • When you’re kind people want you to join in.
    • When you’re kind it makes you feel good about yourself.
    • When you’re kind it makes people feel like they belong.
    • When everyone’s kind there’s no more bullying.

    Teachers can stop the video to discuss each statement, asking questions like:

    • Describe the feeling you get when someone is kind to you.
    • How does it make you feel when you’re kind to someone else?
    • How does it change the dynamic in a group when everyone is kind?
    • What are some ways people have been kind to you?
    • What are some ways you’ve been kind to others?

    Students are then prompted to use the Google Slides or printed template to create their own acrostic poem about kindness and caring.

    A fun and colorful way to introduce poem writing and practice technology skills.

    This resource includes

    • Animated Google Slides video explaining the meaning of kindness and friendship. Video builds an acrostic poem using the word kindness.
    • Blank Google Slides template for students to practice using technology as they create their own acrostic poem.

    RESOURCE 7 - Make Your Own Kindness Coloring Pages

    These editable make your own kindness coloring pages are perfect for encouraging kindness, creativity, a growth mindset and to practice and learn new digital skills.

    This fun, no-prep mindfulness activity provides students with a Google Slides file with faded coloring page templates with images and positive messages. Their task is to convert these to black outlines ready for coloring.

    After they select their favorite page, children search the picture and text templates for the elements on their page. They copy and paste these onto their coloring page and manipulate the elements to fit.

    The activity allows students to practice copying, pasting, resizing, changing outline color and rotating to make their elements fit over the grey outlines. They will need to concentrate to stay focused and demonstrate patience in making them fit. They will also practice printing as they reproduce their masterpiece onto paper ready for coloring.

    Put your finished coloring pages on your bulletin board to spread a message of kindness. The faded outline pages are also perfect to add to a calm down corner for anxious, restless or angry students to trace with a black marker before coloring.

    Want a fun and easy back to school social-emotional learning activity for classroom management and to build emotional intelligence?

    This team-building activity where students work together and take part in acts of kindness empowers them to make a difference throughout the whole school community.

    Kindness activities can help to;

    • build healthy relationships
    • foster positive emotions
    • nurture positive character traits
    • increase happiness and wellbeing
    • create a sense of belonging
    • reduce anti-social and bullying behavior
    • nurture a growth mindset
    • improve concentration and results

    Students are required to work together in groups to brainstorm 5 acts of kindness. They document what they’ll do, how they’ll do it and the resource they need. After each kind deed, they are required to write about their good deeds on their report sheet and reflect on the success of their kindness mission.
