This is a great activity for the first week of school. Students will get an idea of how they learn and you as a teacher will have a super cool visual of the learning styles of all of your students throughout the day.
Students complete a learning styles questionnaire that will reveal what type of learner they are: visual, auditory, kinesthetic. After they complete the questionnaire students add their name to a large poster that is attached to a wall in your classroom. A strategy handout offers suggestions on how to adapt to their particular learning style. The "My Learning Style Plan" handout has your students write goals for the school year and how they will achieve those goals using some of the suggested strategies listed on the handout.
My students really enjoy this activity! The poster will be a great visual in your room and will offer you some amazing insight as you plan your lessons for the year.
Note: I did not create the questions for the learning styles questionnaire. They can be found online and are free.
If you have a moment, I would love to hear from you!
