Product Description
This school location scavenger hunt activity is designed to help young students become acquainted with the school environment. It can be used on the first day of school or during the first week for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, or special needs classes. Spot the Puppy is missing! He has gone on a tour of the school to learn about important classrooms and other locations. Students are asked to help the teacher locate Spot by following the clues that he has left behind. The teacher reads aloud a clue describing an important location in the school. Students try to guess the location described by the clue. The group then goes to that location to look for Spot. At each location, Spot has left a new clue for students to follow, until finally the students return to the classroom. In this way, students become familiar with important locations and people in the school. Clue cards for the following locations are included: gym, art room, cafeteria, playground, library, music room, computer lab, nurse's office, principal's office, and classroom. Blank clue cards are also included for teachers to program with other clues unique to your school. Two versions of the clue cards are included for you to choose from, one with paw print graphics and one with Spot the Puppy graphics. Also included are an introduction letter, a congratulations letter, clipart, and procedures/tips for using the activity. by Rebecca Bettis
