This product is an engaging way for students to review math from third grade! Perfect for an introduction math activity as your children try to help "Franklin McFarland" find his fourth grade teacher at his new school.
This “Math Mystery” can be used several ways. You can use it as a partner activity for 2-5 days. Or perhaps you would like to use it as a small group activity! I use it as one of my September centers because the content is simple review from third grade. This allows for more independent work as I am teaching the children our classroom routines and expectations for Math Workshop. It also serves as a formative assessment as it provides data for some previous math standards.
The product includes a mystery overview to explain with your students.
OPTION #1 Full Packet
You can make individual student copies of the full packet. Students will complete their work right in this packet and work with partners or small groups.
OPTION #2 Centers
Make copies of the full packet. I make 6 copies and put them in folders with protective sheet covers. The student completes the work on the 2-sided answer page which includes a checklist to help them solve the mystery.
