Product Description
These three activities are my go-to favorites for a successful first week back. The students love them and I learn valuable information about how my class feels about math, how well my students can communicate, and how they view themselves. It's a fun win-win!

This bundle features three great activities.

1- A "scoot" game with 20 task cards for students to answer as they move around the room. These feature some simple mathematical tasks (ex: write a subtraction number sentence) as well as some deeper questioning (ex: True or False- If I practice, I can get better at math). A couple of cards even include jokes!

2- A "Mathematical Me" Glyph that makes an awesome back to school week art project. I love having mine hanging on the bulletin boards right away. It gives the students ownership of their space. They create a self-portrait and then add a few features based on the prompts. It makes for a great data-interpretation discussion afterwards!

3- Partner interviews might be my favorite because kids come up with the funniest questions. My only rules are that they need to be considerate and each question must be able to be answered using a number. I've included a page of sample questions to help your thinkers get going. For a bonus round, I have my students introduce their partner to the group.

I use this resource in my third grade classroom. Since it is a very creativity-focused resource it would be perfect for 2nd-5th grades.
