PURPOSE: This activity is to help students move around their new classroom while sharing their interests as well as getting to their new peers! The activity also helps students understand classroom expectations and allows you to introduce/practice transitions. All questions I created allow you to know your students; which, in turn, leads to more meaningful instruction. I hope you can enjoy these task cards!
HOW TO USE: There are two ways to use these cards. If you want to practice having your students listening to your instructions, you can have your students disregard the bottom right corner that indicates which card to switch with and display the 4 rotations (next slide) for them to follow. If you want to KEEP the rotations on the card, you can have students start at a different card for the second rotation then switch with the card that is stated in the corner. (Ex. First rotation, I start at card 3. My card tells me I have to switch with card 17. That completes the first rotation. For my second rotation, I want to start at 11. When it is time to switch cards with a new partner, my card tells me I have to switch with 25. Etc.)
