Get your students' brains back from Summer using this fun, collaborative (and SILENT!) math game! WORKS WITH MANY EQUATIONS: direct variation, slope-intercept, x^2, x^3, exponential equations, absolute value equations...
Perfect for the beginning of the school year, especially if you begin the year with expressions or equations. This game requires students to determine a mystery equation through the use of logic when inputs are revealed one by one. Students will try their ideas and come up with new ideas if their first guess doesn't work out encouraging the idea that math is often slow, we make mistakes, and we keep trying.
Can also be used as a quick filler activity any time throughout the year. Use a set of the student recording sheets (available in both color and black and white) in dry-erase sleeves or have students keep a copy in their binders for a math game at a moment's notice!
Included are THREE different levels with varying complexity depending on the needs of your students. Play throughout the year and change levels as your students' understanding of equations deepens.
Download includes instructions, tips, game board for all 3 levels in 3 different formats (PPT slides, SMART Notebook, Google Slides), student recording sheets for each level in both B&W or color.
