Print the number cards out on card stock, cut out, and laminate for durability.
There are several games I like to play with these cards. The first game I play with the students is a simple matching game. They have to match the numeral to the corresponding number of pencils. I also have the students practice matching the numeral to the number word.
Once the students can proficiently match the numeral to the corresponding number of coconuts, I use the cards in a center as a memory game. The cards are laid out face down and the students take turn flipping two cards to find a match. As the students get the hang of the game, I add the number words to the mix and let them flip three cards during each turn.
I, also, like to put all three sets of cards in a pocket chart center for the students to practice matching the numeral to the number word and the picture.
If the students have a good grasp of their numbers, we use the cards to play a game of "Go Fish".
