When teaching kids about God, object lessons can be very useful. An object lesson is exactly what it would like-- it is an object (and sometimes a science experiment!) that represents something that the students will learn about the Bible.

In this lesson, we use ice cubes and Smarties (or other small candies) to show students the difference between being "sweet" and being "numb" to the needs of others. They will learn about different ways to be sweet at school-- so this is the perfect Back to School Bible Lesson-- and about the story of the Good Samaritan.

This product includes a printable set of directions to teach the object lesson, as well as 5 printable activity sheets, and a sorting activity. They can be done with one child during homeschool Bible lessons or a class of children during Bible Class or Sunday School. These activity sheets include pages to note the results of the experiment, relate the experiment to the story, unscramble a memory verse, and learn about the Good Samaritan.
