This game includes 25 playing boards that have a variety of 50 different back to school themed pictures placed sporadically on them. There are also 50 different clue cards that will be read aloud by the teacher. I recommend that you print the playing boards in color and on cardstock to give a more authentic feel of a board game. Also, if you plan on using these again I would definitely laminate them. After printing and laminating, cut out the boards and clue cards. Then all you need is some type of counter or marker for the students to use on their boards. That’s it and now you are ready to play.
The game PINGO is a combination of Bingo and the popular game Who Has … I Have. Pass out the playing cards and counters for the students. Make sure the students cover the free space. The teacher (that’s you) will pull a clue card and read it aloud to the students. Do not show them the pictures on the cards. They are there for you to use to check their answers when they get PINGO. The clue cards will be read in the format of Who Has…. The students will look on their game boards to see if they have the picture that goes along with the clue card read by the teacher. The clue cards should then be put aside and used to check the students as they call out PINGO for the win. The students’ boards will have the phrase “I have… “ and a picture. If the students have the proper picture, they will cover the box with a counter or marker. The game continues until a student has 5 in row vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The students will need to use their listening skills as well as context clues to find the answers and pictures for each clue.
This is my back to school version and would be great for the beginning of the year as an ice breaker or activity that doesn’t require writing. (You know how long it takes those younger ones to write even one sentence at the beginning.) Please check out my other versions of the game as they become available. I also have a summer version ready. Please leave feedback and let me know what your students think of the game. Also, let me know of any mistakes you find and I will correct them and repost a corrected version. Thank you for your purchase.
