SCOOT is one of my favorite classroom games! It keeps busy bodies moving, and you can use it for almost any subject area. The hardest part is teaching kids how to play the first time. This back to school version of SCOOT is easy peasy! It is a great getting to know everyone activity that also lets you teach how to play SCOOT.
Here’s what you do:
Print out the numbered cards. You will need one for each student in your class. Pass out one card to all of the students at their desks. You want to the cards to be in order so pass them out in the way you want students to move around the room.
Students use their “best handwriting” to write their first names on the numbered cards.
As students SCOOT around the room, they write down the first names of their classmates on the recording sheet. When the game is finished, they will have written everyone’s name and the teacher’s name!
*If you have extra boxes, you can write the names of the principal, secretary, nurse, counselor, aides, etc.
