Description

Back to School STEM is a perfect way to build community through team building! These four STEM activities are based around Fred the Worm and his misadventures. Students must help Fred out of some tricky situations as he travels around the United States.

STEM Activities

Save Fred: Students work together to put a life preserver on Fred so he doesn’t drown as he is whitewater rafting on the Eagle River in Colorado.

Design a Safe Landing for Fred: Students gets stuck on top of Superstition Mountain in Arizona. Students must create some kind of a parachute that will take Fred down to the ground slowly when dropped from above their heads.

Create a Bridge for Fred: Students must create the longest bridge possible for Fred to crawl across the Mississippi River from Missouri to Illinois.

Keep Fred Dry: Fred wants to go to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in Norfolk, Virginia. Students must submerge Fred in water, but they have to figure out how to keep him from getting wet.
