I know we all have those "Lacey Walker, Nonstop Talkers" in our class.... use these fun activities for follow up to a favorite read aloud - or independently.
1. A pocket chart sort contrasting the events that occur as a result of Lacey either talking or listening; complete with picture cues for our beginning readers. This can later be used as a literacy center for repeated practice!
2. A graphic organizer (and super cute writing prompt) for students to retell the beginning, middle, and end of the story - including the lesson learned by Lacey. Would also make a great follow up writing center or reading response journal page.
3. CRAFTIVITY! Everyone can make their own owl and pledge to be a good listener "WHOO'S listening?" :)
