Help your students become more responsible for their own learning. Students will use this to record assignments for each class daily. They can also keep track of important dates and long-term deadlines. This can be a very helpful tool to use in communicating with parents as well. The daily planning pages have space for teachers to initial to indicate they have seen the planner and what is recorded is correct. Parents can then expect their child to bring the planner home every night in order to check on their assignments. In my classroom we printed a new planner with each new quarter. The copier could print the cover and back on cardstock and the inside pages on regular paper, collate the pages, and staple the booklet together. I have included a sample cover page but if your class or school has a mascot or logo, that is nice to put on the cover as well. Students love to add flair to the covers of their planners so I included some things they may want to color. In addition to the resource pages included in this bundle, it is helpful to include a monthly calendar for the quarter. The website vertex 42 has fantastic calendar options you can download to Excel and edit as you wish. For the first quarter planner you could include your welcome letter and supply lists for those students who enroll late. Any handouts or notices from the school or district are good to add as well. This resource has the basics you need to put together a planner that will be helpful to students, teachers, and parents.
