This is a no prep back to school activity. Just print it out, and make copies.
This activity gives you the opportunity to review setting with your students while still getting to know them and learning about their summers.
In this activity, students will be asked how authors write about setting. Students will be asked to think about a setting from their summer. They will then brainstorm all the different elements of their setting. Students will write a paragraph describing their setting and then draw a picture to illustrate their setting.
Included you will find:
Student worksheet to guide students through the activity.
My students have loved this activity in the past. I plan to do the activity again this year! This lesson also works well at many other times in the year (after a holiday, after spring break, etc.)
