This Back to School Tool Packet can be used for any grade level or discipline. It has five helpful forms to help teaches with parent communication. The Parent Teacher Conference Form is useful to record who was at a parent-teacher meeting, what the concerns from both teacher and parents were, what action will be taken to rectify the problem or issue. It can also be used for the yearly or bi-yearly parent-teacher conferences. Print a stack to have handy.
The Conference Schedule Form is great for the parent-teacher conference afternoon and/or evening. The times are listed and teachers can record the student names, parents' names, next to the appoint times. There is a place for comments. I use this as one of my record keeping tools for parent contact. It is done in a spreadsheet so the times can be adjusted to intervals as needed. I just type in times at 5 or 10 minute intervals for the first 3 spreadsheet cells. Then I highlight the 3 cells and at the corner of the third cell I drag the black box to to last time slot I need for the day. Voila! Your scheduled time slots are set!
The Initial Parent Contact Form has sample dialogue you can use when you call parent before school starts to begin to develop a rapport with parents. There is room to make notes for future reference.
The Student Absent note is great to give parents (suggested about three to five copies copies) at the first day of school or at open house. It is essentially a simple easy for parents to fill out regarding the reason their child is absent. All the import information for teachers records is there to keep on file.
The Class Newsletter is an editable form that you can fill in your weekly and/or monthly happenings. Simply click on any box and fill in your content. It can be printed back to back for a one page newsletter that can sent home to parents or posted on your teacher website, blog, or emailed.
I hope you will find these tools as helpful as I have!
