Product Description
Thinking routines are great for the beginning of the year! This unit was created to foster classroom community building.

It supports a common core classroom which values higher-order thinking skills requiring learners to analyze, synthesize and evaluate. Thinking routines provide “visible thinking” in a classroom and set the stage for a “Culture of Thinking.”

Included in this unit is a set of six thinking routine mini-posters and six lessons that support visual thinking. Each lesson has step by step directions, examples, worksheets and visuals that can be used in multiple ways.

These routines include:
Lesson 1: Ghost Walk- Valuing Materials in our Classroom
Lesson 2: Compass Points- Recess
Lesson 3: See-Think-Wonder- Social Problem Solving
Lesson 4: Step Inside- School Helpers
Lesson 5: Think-Puzzle-Explore- Exploring a New Grade
Lesson 6: Zoom-In- Diversity
