    Description

Get ready for back to school with this vocabulary and language building therapy bundle. This bundle is full of receptive and expressive language development and vocabulary tasks for speech therapy and special education.

Just what you need to address a variety of ages and language levels using a thematic approach. This back to school bundle will help you support the receptive and expressive language growth of your students. Perfect for early language development as well as older students. I have used these with my elementary students with mild-moderate language impairments and with my high school and transition students with moderate to severe impairments.

This unit was developed to support communication development for students with both mild to moderate and moderate to severe communication deficits. The theme of this unit is "Back to School". It was designed to be used by SLP’s and Special Education Teachers for group and individual work. The unit can be used to work on vocabulary, the function of items, features, categorization, answering questions, asking questions, social behaviors, and more. It is designed for all age levels. These activities have been designed with multiple levels and can be modified to meet the needs of your groups and individual students.

My inspiration for these activities... A portion of my caseload has always been students with autism or with a variety of moderate to severe developmental disabilities. For the last 5 years I have worked with older students. I found that many of my go-to activities were not appropriate to the ages of my students. With my young and older students, I noticed that they responded better with simpler designs. After researching and trialing using evidenced-based practices, I designed these thematic units to support communication growth. They were created to be flexible for a variety of goals and skill levels. These activities have increased the effectiveness of my group and individual sessions.
