This is a great way for you to pair your students up whenever an assignment calls for partners. I use this in my Social Studies classroom, where it serves two purposes--partnering up and reinforcing knowledge of world geography. This activity sets up partners that will remain in place throughout the entire school year. It takes the “drama” out of picking partners!
Scenario for students: Choose a partner to “meet you” at each of the following physical features. You can only write a person’s name down once, so you will need to find eight different partners. When you write someone’s name down, they must write your name on their paper in the same blank.
This activity aligns perfectly with 6th grade and 7th grade Social Studies Georgia Performance Standards.
