Product Description
These pages are an acrostic-style write the room activities that get kids out of their seats, gives them a fun reason to find specific letters, provides practice transferring words to their paper, and it offers handwriting practice.

This set of Back to School write the room pages, covers the following pages:
Back to School, Friends, Family, Grandparents, Constitution, Books, Apples, Johnny Appleseed, Welcome Autumn, Twirling leaves, Crayons, Scissors.

How to use:
Make a copy for each student who will participate in the activity. Provide clipboards or hardback books for students to use for ease of writing.

For each letter, students find a word that contains that letter. For the word apple: Dismissal, playdough, Activity, etc. and the Peter, penguins, and wrap-up for p. When words have been found for each letter, students circle the letter they were looking for within the words they found.

I put a write-the-room activity out everyday during centers. It is one of those things that students at any level can do. I often spend the first few weeks walking around with students to help them get the hang of it, but once they have it, it is one of their favorite activities.

My kids use our word wall, book fronts, the name wall (their favorite place), the daily schedule, homework pages, etc., to find words for this activity. The words and places to find them are endless.

The clipboards are always the first thing to go when we start centers and kids never seem to tire of this activity.

I hope your students find as much joy in write-the-room as mine!

Sincerely,
Sarah
