Need a good resource for beginning of the school year? This allows our classroom to get to know one another through activities and writing prompts. I have included a few ways I use this product:
* For the writing prompts, I print them into a booklet. I record any important information about each student in my student binder. I also have cut the prompts and had the kids glue them into their writer’s notebook in the past too! I also use the All About Me cover and the other writing prompts and turn it into their first published writing piece!
* For the puzzle piece page: I have students write words, phrases, or draw pictures that describe them or things that they enjoy. For example, a few of mine would be my family, ice cream, teaching.
This is done in color and is a great Back to School Night piece to share.
* For the I Am page: I have students write or draw pictures of things that reflect who they are. For example. I am a teacher, a daughter, an ice cream lover. This is done using lots of color and is a great Back to School Night piece to share.
* For the Two Truths & A Lie page, I have students write two things about them that is true and one thing that is a lie and students have to guess which one is not true. Students can draw a picture for each.
Please let me know how you plan to use this in your classroom!
