Back to School Write a Story centers begins by having students orally construct stories and then taking steps to plan writing. Students will work towards composing a written story with a strong beginning, middle, and an ending. Students will write using appropriate describing details.

Your kiddos will be inspired to write with the colorful, fun, clip art pictures they will use to create their stories. Some of the clip art includes: students, classroom items, school supplies, books, backpacks, etc. You can use the writing activities as mini-lessons and / or writing centers.

Idea development is a very complex skill and continues to be an area of concern with students in grades Kindergarten all the way up to 12th grade. These activities are also appropriate to use with older students that are struggling with idea development in writing. The lessons are good for RTI / Intervention lessons.
