Picture this: It's the first day of school. You're passing out all of those school forms for lunch, transportation, acceptable use policy and on and on. What are your students doing meanwhile? This Writing Activity is a great way for your students to get to know each other while writing about what's really on their minds: "Where did my summer go?" and "Oh how I miss not having to wake up before noon!"
You can have students fill out the pages that pertain to them and color the line art. It's an easy way for you to put their work on display around the classroom, asses their writing skills, and start preparing for Open House (since you can display these for the parents to see). Once they are complete, the students can share with each other and it's an easy ICE BREAKER!
1. A color cover page and a black and white easy to print and copy cover page that students color in themselves
2. Summer School page
3. Summer Goals page
4. Summer Travel
5. Summer Camp
6. Summer Job (yes, even if it's doing chores around the house for an allowance!)
7. Summer internship
8. Summer Fun
9. More Summer Fun
Who says back to school can't be fun?!
