This unit will get you through the first week or 2 of school and is packed full of activities that provide opportunities for assessing, writing samples, and number assessment! On the first day I always have the children write their ABC's, Assess their number writing ability, and take a writing sample. There are two projects/activities that enable you to do this then display the work so you have something for back to school night!
