Most students already know each other but they really want to get to know you! Use these fun activities along with some popular read aloud books or use them alone. They are great ways that your students can get comfortable with you and a new school year!
Dear Teacher activity: Students write letters telling you something that they wished you knew. There is also a template for the teacher to write a note to their students. (4 templates included)
My Teacher's Secret Life: Students predict what they think you might do outside of school like your favorite place to visit or favorite place to eat. Then you can tell them the true info. I use this after reading Dear Teacher.
3 Facts and a Fib. Write 3 facts and a fib on this template. Students will try to guess which one is the fib. Then you can reveal and let students use this same template to write about themselves and share. I use this after reading My Teacher From the Black Lagoon.
My Top 5 Questions. Students can write their top 5 questions about you or this new school year. You can answer their questions and return to them. This might ease some students minds to know things they might be nervous about. I use this after reading First Day Jitters
My Teacher's Favorites: I use this template to write down some of my favorite things to display in the classroom.
These are cute, fun, and easy! This is a great way to get your students comfortable with you. Most activities are about getting to know other classmates but forget the teacher!
You will love this resources and will use it year after year!
