This back-to-school activity is designed to allow you to get to know your students through the format of a resume. Instead of work experience and contact information, students are asked to describe their various interests, academic strengths, and education. You can model how you would like them to complete this, such as in paragraphs, bullet points, etc.
In the second page, students are asked to think of four “references” who can speak to their personal and academic strengths. They will need to write a brief paragraph about what positive comments that person would make about them, as well as how that person knows your student.
Finally, your students will need to have their parents write them a “letter of recommendation.” As with the references, the parent/guardian must illuminate that student’s personal and academic strengths.
This set includes:
- An “About Me” resume page
- A personal references page
- A letter of recommendation page
