Bad Case of Stripes is a book about a little girl who loves lima beans, but won't eat them because she cares so much about what others think about her. On the first day of school, her skin changes to have stripes. Read the book to help your students learn to accept those that like and are different from us.
This mini reading unit has a list of vocabulary words that young learners might not know (especially ESL students). I did not make this unit for older grades where they need to know the harder words in the book. But there are plenty of words you can use for older grades, but the vocabulary listed is great for little learners and older ESL learners. This unit has READING STRATEGIES for before, during, after.
